"1.1 million people in the U.S. get sick annually from germs in tap water."  - CDC

U.S. Water Warnings

When there's a potential risk to your tap water, public health officials issue advisories to keep you safe.

01

Water Boil Advisory

Your water may be contaminated with germs or bacteria. Boil water for at least one minute before drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or washing dishes.

02

Do Not Drink Advisory

The water contains harmful chemicals or toxins that can’t be removed by boiling. Use bottled water for all consumption — even boiling won't make it safe.

03

Do Not Use Advisory

The water is unsafe for any use, including bathing, washing, or touching. Avoid all contact with the water until officials declare it safe.

Know Your Water

What's in your water... besides H2O. Here are a few important topics to know.

PFAS

“Forever Chemicals” that don’t break down naturally in the environment or the human body.

Micro Plastics

Small plastic fragments, generally defined as those less than 5 millimeters in size.

Alkaline

Water with pH above 7, indicating it's less acidic than neutral water.

Fluoride

A natural mineral that strengthens teeth and bones, particularly enamel.

Clean water starts with the right filtration method and system.

Explore the core technologies that purify water and discover the filter formats available in your home.

SimpleLab has developed a comprehensive scoring system, ranging from 1 to 99, to evaluate water purity based on thousands of water quality tests conducted across the US.

The average score for US tap water was determined to be 42 out of 99.

In contrast, Spout water achieved a 98 out of 99.

Risks to the U.S. Water Supply

Water safety isn’t just about one issue — it’s about how everything works together.

Over 50 billion plastic water bottles are used annually in the U.S.. Most break down into tiny plastic particles that we drink, eat, and breathe — raising big questions about long-term health impacts.
